I recently came across a post that went along the lines of “6 tips to make your blog not suck” and sure enough “not updating your blog” was one of them. Funny how that works. When designing a portfolio site, it is easy for one to get doe-eyed at the prospect of having a blog. “I’m really going to do it this time,” you say your yourself. Then nearly five months pass and you haven’t touched it. It’s just the reality of things I suppose. Well four years is long enough to let the cat out of the bag right? So a while ago, there was this game called AION, and to summarize very quickly, it wasn’t a very good game. Perhaps it is a good game these days, but the lack of servers and it’s adopted Free-2-Play model would have me thinking otherwise. Anyway, when I was hosting a video game site with a friend of mine, Ryan Yockey, I went ahead and wrote this piece describing my experience of “botting” in AION. Interestingly enough it was picked up a few of the more significant fansites of the time, and became a catalyst for what was wrong with the game.   …

Something has been bothering me as of late. Gamers. As I silently spectate this year’s E3, and read the comments over at IGN, I can’t help but be troubled by the comments. It’s not so much that I am concerned with comments that cheer on a chosen “winning team,” but rather, how there are so many comments that cheer on the complete and utter destruction of the “other guys.” Watching this pointless back and forth argument between those who love the Xbox One, and those who love the PS4, has driven me to the quieter sides of the gaming discussion. Chronoblade for Ouya
So it’s taken me quite a while to get the proverbial ball rolling on this page (and also this blog) but with school all finished, and master’s degree firmly in hand, I have started to make some changes to the first version of my portfolio. Call it a 2.0 update if you will, but I will continue to roll out changes over the course of this week, and try and have everything taken care of by next Sunday. For now the Portfolio is the only part that has been updated, and the blog is the next part. So in the meantime, please excuse our dust and we move DIV’s around and end up with all sorts of stuff ending up where it shouldn’t. …
